Your smile is so important in every feature of your
life. It says so much about you.
After eye contact, your smile will be the next feature
another person will focus on when meeting you.
‘Media’ smiles surround us in magazines,
newspapers and television and films. Whilst the
smiles of models, actors and politicians look fantastic,
they may not appeal to everyone.
Smile design will allow you to decide what kind of
smile suits your personality.
Smile design comprises of four stages designed to
guide and involve you through from start to finish.
Stage One—-Smile Analysis
This usually involves a casual chat about your concerns
and with the use of digital photographs of your smile
displayed on our LCD screen where we can discuss the
improvements that can be made. This stage involves
no commitment and an estimate of costs can be given.
For a more definitive costing and full treatment plan
then further stages are required.
Stage Two——Diagnosis
Computer Imaging
We have software programs which allow us to manipulate
photos of your smile to show the possible changes that
can be made. It is a useful method to allow you to
visualise what we are trying to achieve and help you
in the decision process.
Diagnostic Mock up
We can build on the computer imaging to produce two
three dimensional models showing you your teeth as
they are and your teeth as they could be. This allows
us to discuss your treatment together and visualise
the end result before we have even started. The models
are also useful as you can take them home to discuss
your treatment with family and friends.
Stage Three——-Try Your Smile
To ensure that you are happy with your new smile,
after the preparation treatment, we fit provisional
plastic restorations for you to live with for a week
or so. This enables you to consult family and friends
and gauge their opinion. The plastic restorations are
easily modified and we have a review appointment when
modifications can be made before the final design is
confirmed with our ceramic technician.
Stage Four——- Your new Smile
The final stage in your journey to a new improved
smile will have involved Tom Cutmore, our Ceramic Technician.
Tom has his state of the art Ceramic Laboratory in
Earls Colne. This proximity allows us the luxury of
close consultation with Tom to confirm the shade and
characteristics of your restorations to ensure the
perfect result. Many patients meet Tom at his laboratory
to have the final result confirmed. Don’t be
surprised to see Tom pop in to see your ceramic restorations
fitted, he was born a perfectionist!
