25% of adults suffer
from regular headaches, temporarily relieved by painkillers.
Regular use of painkillers has a long term detrimental
effect on your health. What you may not realise is
that these symptoms could be due to your teeth.
The way that our
teeth meet and slide against each other is like a suit
fitting its owner rather than the owner having to fit
the suit.
Many people have
small errors in their bite which makes them put their
teeth into a position of comfort rather than the correct
position.
If your teeth don’t
fit and slide together in harmony, one or more of the
muscle groups involved in jaw movement begin to suffer
fatigue. This may be felt as headaches, eye pain, and
neck and shoulder pain.
Stress levels are
known to make matters worse. Patients at pressure at
work, at home, or in their personal lives are more
likely to suffer from these symptoms.
Sometimes it is
your partner that may realise something is wrong as
you keep them awake grinding your teeth all night,
with you awaking un refreshed, and tired.
This grinding is
a typical symptom leading to excessive wear on your
teeth with them possibly appearing worn, prematurely
aged with regular chipped and broken teeth.
The good news is
that you do not have to live with these symptoms ,
we have undergone specialist training with the British
Society of Occlusal Studies( www.bsos.org.uk) and can
offer simple treatments that will change your life.
If you feel your
signs and symptoms may be due to your teeth and would
like a consultation or advice please contact us.
